Fun Fact

Mary has visited the penguins on the southern most continent, Antartica.

Mary is the Deputy Director at A for Arizona.  In this role, Mary leads A for Arizona’s efforts to expand and replicate Arizona’s best high-poverty district, magnet, and charter schools. Having attended public schools from kindergarten through law school, Mary is committed to improving access to excellent public school options for all Arizona students.

Mary holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and earned her juris doctor magna cum laude at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. She has taught master’s level contract law courses at the ASU College of Law and volunteers her time as a mentor with the Phoenix-based organization New Pathways for Youth.

Prior to joining A for Arizona, Mary worked as a commercial litigation associate at a prominent law firm in Phoenix. Before that, she spent a year working as a judicial law clerk for Arizona Court of Appeals Judge Michael J. Brown.  Using her experience in law and advocacy, Mary hopes to support Arizona’s A-grade public school leaders as they expand their models and find innovative ways to serve more students today.
